In this Podcast of our SustainableSA Podcast series we are covering SDG 3 which is all about ‘Good Health and Well-being’. The main objective of this SDG is to ‘Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’. Going through all the challenges of COVID-19, we see now more than ever before, how important good health and well-being is to South Africa. It’s fundamental to our countries economic performance and social progress. This is why we’re so thrilled to have Belinda Carreira talk with Brett Tromp in this Podcast. Brett is the CFO of Discovery Health and also the CEO of Discovery’s Health Care Services division which houses Discovery’s Pharmacy, and Wellness and Homecare businesses. Podcast: Dr Flavia Senkubuge

SDG3 seeks to ensure health and well-being for all, at every stage of life. This Goal addresses all major health priorities, including reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental diseases; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines. It also calls for more research and development, increased health financing, and strengthened capacity of all countries in health risk reduction and management (UN, 2019). In this #SustainableSA Podcast Belinda Carreira speaks with Dr. Flavia Senkubuge about South Africa’s status on achieving SDG3, the impacts COVID-19 has had on this and how large organisations, SMME’s and individuals can each play a valuable part in helping South Africa achieve this Goal.

Now more than ever before, it’s vital for all of South Africa to join this journey as we work towards creating good health and wellbeing for everyone.
